From our western perspective there is a lot wrong in India. Also, many things are right, and there is a lot we can learn from the way the inhabitants of India deal with life. They accept. The most beautiful thing I’ve seen in India is their faith. They act, trusting that somewhere, somehow there might be a reason for all this, beyond their knowledge. Whichever religion or story is behind that. With or without a god.
What fascinates me in hindsight is the selflessness and humbleness of a lot of people I met. Trying to be great by just being.
That’s what I call faith. To believe in something that is greater than the I.
I wrote two short stories after my adventures. There is one about spices and one about buying belief.
This is where you buy something. This is where it happens. Your mind is with the happiness of your family. This is where you are emotionally bribed. Don’t resist. Bribe yourself into it. Give. This is where you give in. Give in to it! For once, give in. Trust that it’s worth it.
Also, an interesting interview with mostly me about traveling was published on Sunday Mornings at the River.
